No expense was spared on this auto. A little bit about the SOHC engine In 1964 Ford came out with the 427 SOHC with a output of more than 625 H.P. @ 7200 RPM with twin carbs. This was Ford's answer to the hemi for NASCAR Racing Circuit but in October of 1964 NASCAR officials announced a new set of rules to take effect January 1, 1965 elimating overhead cams and hemispherical heads. Ford had roughly 75 units in production when Henry Ford II announced his company's pull-out from NASCAR racing.
